The SHORT Way Through Texas

Day 10 Oklahoma City OK to Amarillo TX 263 Miles
We left a very muggy Oklahoma City behind on the way to Amarillo Texas. As we headed west the skies turned blue and the air cooled and dried out. About half way here it really started to 'look' like the Texas in movies. A person can see for miles and miles in the distance. The oil wells begin appearing, more and more cattle are in the pastures. So many calves this time of year...veal cutlet remorse again.
Not too much going on today. The ride was easy....Jim practically didn't have to turn the steering wheel except to turn into the RV park here on the western side of Amarillo
I 40 is very, very straight.
Tonight, I got to meet a wonderful person from a web site that I've been a part of for many years. We went out to dinner and enjoyed each other's company for almost three hours. It was nice to have some female companionship for a change. A girls night!
Tomorrow is uncertain, we will make final decisions tomorrow morning

  1. No pictures. Ok, I can wait 'til December... I guess. Glad you had a Girls Night Out! Sure it was GOOD! Happy Trails!
The skeeters are out in full force here in the evenings. Getting ready to welcome you to Alaska. Check the next Walmart for Pic coils and bug dope.
